Now that the airdrop is complete and participants have been selected, it is time to begin the process of reducing the staking power of the core team and handing control our our blockchain to the community.

Token Distribution
Today, 28th February 2024, each successful airdrop participant will receive 388 HMS tokens. You can check if your entry was successful by viewing the list in the #announcement channel of our Discord server. The core team are currently staking with a bare minimum number of tokens. Once the community is staking blocks, the core team will stop staking altogether and send all remaining tokens to the airdrop fund.
When the core team have stopped staking, this means that all staking rewards will be going to the community and the Hemis blockchain is fully decentralised and in community control!
How to Stake
Staking is easy! All you need to do is leave your wallet open (preferably 24/7) and ensure that your wallet is unlocked for staking by choosing this option from the top right hand corner of the wallet.
When you receive your tokens you will have to wait for them to receive 300 confirmations before staking will start. This will take a minimum of 6 hours…please be patient! Your wallet does not have to be open while these confirmations happen but you will need to have your wallet open to receive staking payments.
Cold Staking
The Hemis team understands that not everybody is able to have a wallet open and running 24/7. For this reason, we included a feature called Cold Staking where you can ask a friend to stake your coins for you. For instructions on how to do this, please see this article.

A Plea for Help!
Please stake! The more people who stake the chain the more secure and decentralised our blockchain will be. If too ferw people stake, the blockchain may stall. We have solutions for this if needed however in these early days, the more people who stake the better. Besides, you will earn more rewards!
Next Steps
The Hemis core team will be watching the staking situation closely and providing regular updates to the community.
Once the blockchain is decentralised and fully in community control. we will announce the beginning of the first staking bonus window where a minimum of 375,000 HMS will be distributed to people who help stake the chain.
