Important Update: New Challenges and Moving Forward

We want to share an important update with the Hemis community regarding some significant challenges the project is currently facing. As always, we are committed to being open and transparent with you, especially during difficult times. Many of you may have noticed that the Hemis team have been quieter than usual in recent weeks.

Earlier this year, we adjusted our roadmap due to a serious medical incident involving our lead developer, Fabian (TheExiledMonk), who had stepped in after the sudden passing of our previous lead developer last year. Unfortunately, Fabian has suffered a further relapse and is likely to need several months to recover fully. Our thoughts are with Fabian and his family, and we support him wholeheartedly during this difficult time.

While this situation has undoubtedly placed additional strain on our already under-resourced team, the Hemis project is not at risk of failure due to this latest setback. However, we do face further delays as we make the necessary adjustments to keep things moving forward.

To manage this situation, Dan Ames (Stonehedge), our CEO, will be stepping back from his leadership duties temporarily to take on responsibility for technical development while Fabian recovers. This decision has been made to ensure continuity in our development process and protect the project’s progress.

In the meantime, we are actively recruiting two additional team members:

  • A C++ wallet developer to help accelerate the development of our key feature, PTX.
  • A social media assistant to help maintain regular communication and updates while Dan focuses on development.

What to Expect in the Coming Weeks

As we navigate these challenges and restructure, we want to set the expectation that the coming weeks will likely be quieter than usual. While there may be fewer updates, rest assured that work is continuing behind the scenes. These adjustments are necessary to ensure that Hemis remains on track, and this temporary period of quiet will allow us to regroup and strengthen our team for the future.

Despite the bad luck we’ve faced, the Hemis team is more determined than ever. We view these obstacles as opportunities to refine and focus our efforts. Our commitment to the project and to you, our community, remains as strong as ever.

Community Q&A with Dan Ames

To ensure the community has the opportunity to ask any questions or voice any concerns, Dan Ames (Stonehedge) will be available in the Hemis Discord on Wednesday, 23rd October at 2000 UTC for a live Q&A session. This will be an open and unmoderated discussion where you can get the latest updates directly and share your thoughts.

We thank you for your understanding, patience, and continued support. We will provide further updates as the team expands and as we progress toward our goals.

Stay tuned, and please reach out in the Discord if you have any questions or need support. Together, we will continue to build the future of Hemis.
